This course will review the information required to safely handle benzene. Benzene is a flammable organic liquid that is classed as a potential human carcinogen. Training will discuss the production and use of benzene in manufacturing processes. The applicable regulatory requirements will be reviewed. The physical and chemical properties will be covered to help ensure safe handling practices. Potential exposure mechanisms, symptoms of exposure, and the use of personal protective equipment are topics for consideration. The requirement for storage, handling, and transportation of benzene will be included in the training.
